The Microsoft Accessibility Toolkit 2.4 includes a 64 bit version which many people have had trouble installing even with your solution, or at all without it. Unless it is designed to work with 64 bit machines, the 64 bit version of the Microsoft Accessibility Toolkit should not be installed by default. The instructions on your blog are for Windows XP and Windows Vista with 32 bit versions of Office 2013. Since you are using Mavericks or higher, with a 64 bit Mavericks or higher install in your case, you will need to use one of the other solutions in this post.
