The film stars Scott Terra as Alex Tyler, a man who has been blinded while trying to save his sister from an unknown assailant and must use his keen sense of hearing to help catch him while he carries out more attacks on Parker's rig. "see no evil 3" made its debut at the 2008 Fantastic Fest. It was distributed by Lionsgate Films. The Scottish rock band Frightened Rabbit (the film's prelude) was featured in two trailers for the film, as well as appearing in the end credits. Review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a score of 8 percent based on 93 reviews, with an average rating of 2½ out of 10; however, Metacritic gave it a score greater than 57 (considered "Mixed or average reviews"), indicating unfavorable reviews. The critical consensus reads: "An overlong horror movie that relies on uninspired plot twists to sustain interest. What could have been a mildly diverting horror flick is instead a tedious exercise in unoriginality." Scott Foundas of "Variety" called it "a joyless and play-it-safe slasher movie, the third entry in the woefully generic franchise that recycles elements from dozens of other films without ever establishing its own identity." Stephen Holden of "The New York Times" wrote that "like its predecessors, this story is loud, violent and instantly forgettable." Manohla Dargis of "The New York Times" wrote that the film is an improvement over the first two films in the series, but added that it is still "hollow, derivative trash". Stephanie Zacharek of Salon. com called the film "a gruesome, vapid and uninspired piece of trash." The film debuted at #10 at the box office with $5.6 million in its opening weekend. The film ended up earning $11.2 million domestically and $13.4 million internationally for a total of $24.6 million worldwide on a $15 million budget. On February 17, 2010, Don Murphy revealed that there was a possibility of an "see no evil" sequel titled "see no evil 4: genesis". In the interview he said that he thinks that Lionsgate approached Kevin Tancharoen to direct it but that talks fell apart when Tancharoen was involved in negotiations to direct "". He also revealed that the 2007 film "thrillers" would have elements of the "see no evil" series, but he said that they would not be connected to the first two films. A year later, Murphy announced that Don Mancini had written a script for what he hoped would be a trilogy of films, but Lionsgate did not think it was likely to happen. The film opens with an old woman sitting in an apartment. As she is playing her harmonica, she notices an antique doll come flying through her wall and crash landing on the ground next to her. She looks over at the doll and sees a watch dissolving into dust before her eyes. cfa1e77820
